Public Transport?
Sometimes it is a good option, but I would not recommend it to a traveler. It's not bad in the city, but might be confusing for the first time. There are no severe traffic jams in Calgary, some folks on the C-Train might be a bit unfriendly, and waiting for the bus at -20 is not a good experience.
Traveling from Calgary to another town could be tricky. It's not that bad if we speak about popular places, Banff for example. A return ticket would cost you around 100 CAD per person. For a family of 4 people, it's just cheaper to do a privat ride.
How does it work?
You send me your flight, your accommodation and your special wishes. I meet you at the arrival zone and help you to bring your bags to the car. Since this moment we are flexible and can drive to the place following your wishes. We can drive a faster road or we can take a small countryside road to see some views, we can make a shopping stop, have lunch or visit a restaurant. We can do it even if it was not discussed in advance. I don't put you into a narrow frame of driving from point A to point B, feel as if you have a transfer tour from the airport to the resort. I am a traveler like you and I know what is it to be with bags, tired kids, without mobile data. Don't worry if it will take an extra hour or two, I would like to make your first touch with Calgary as smooth as possible.
